Emily Osment has filed for divorce from her husband, Jack Anthony, after only five months of marriage.
The Young Sheldon star officially filed for divorce on Friday, March 7, citing irreconcilable differences, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. TMZ was the first to report the news.
Osment, who turns 33 on March 10, married Anthony on October 12, 2024, following their June 2023 engagement. However, she listed their separation date as December 7, 2024. The couple, who do not share any children, had a prenuptial agreement in place.
“I think with any big decision in your life, whether it’s relationships or work or whatever it may be, you have to firmly plant both feet in that decision,” Osment said in a statement to PEOPLE. “Ultimately, it didn’t work out.”
A Whirlwind Romance Comes to an End
At the time of their engagement in June 2023, Osment shared her excitement on Instagram, posting a photo of her unique engagement ring—a square diamond paired with a circular emerald encased in gold.
“I did not know life could be this sweet,” she wrote in the caption. “I am so proud of the life we have built together and the people we have become over the last few years. This love is so big and so uniquely ours, and I know it can do anything. I am so honored to stand next to you every day. I love you, Jack.”
Osment first shared a glimpse of Anthony on her Instagram in October 2021 when the couple attended a Phish concert. However, she kept most of their relationship private.
Wedding and Split
Leading up to their wedding in May 2024, Osment spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about the planning process, expressing her excitement. “I cannot wait to be married,” she said at the time.
Just days after their wedding, she confirmed the marriage in an interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, calling the experience “great so far” and saying, “These past four days have been glorious.”
Now, in light of the divorce filing, Osment appears to have removed photos of Anthony from her Instagram.
