According to Reuters, on the evening of September 3, Russian President Vladimir Putin responded to his US counterpart Donald Trump’s accusation of “conspiracy against the United States”.

Specifically, in a post on the social network Truth Social on the morning of September 3, Mr. Trump complained about China’s massive military parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism, but did not mention the US’s contributions to this war.

Mr. Trump ended the post by stating: “Wishing President Xi (Jinping) and the wonderful people of China a wonderful day of celebration. My warmest regards to Vladimir Putin and (North Korean leader) Kim Jong Un while they plot against the United States”.

In response to this accusation, Mr. Putin only humorously affirmed at a press conference on the evening of September 3 in Beijing: “Everyone understands that Mr. Trump is not a person without a sense of humor”.

The Russian president added that all the countries with which Russia had dialogued during his time in China supported the outcome of the Russia-US summit in Alaska, and expressed hope that the meeting could help end the war in Ukraine.

Putin’s statement came as the US president began to show signs of losing patience with Moscow as there were no signs of the war in Ukraine cooling down.

Speaking to the press during a meeting with Polish President Karol Nawrocki, Trump hinted that the US would impose new sanctions on Russia if Moscow did not end the war in Ukraine.

Trump said “you will see something happen” if he was not satisfied with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s response, according to AFP.

“I have no message to President Putin. He knows my position and he will make a decision one way or another,” Trump affirmed.

“Whatever his decision is, we’re either going to be happy or not happy about it. And if we’re not happy, you’re going to see something happen,” the US leader added.
