Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested at a New York City hotel on Tuesday (September 17). He is under investigation for rape, sex trafficking, and more.
The notorious rapper was arrested by the US Homeland Security Investigations at the Park Hyatt New York following a grand jury indictment. “The hip-hop mogul has been fully cooperative and voluntarily traveled to New York to prepare for the charges,” a Page Six source told the outlet.
The charges are still unclear, according to Page Six. Sean “Diddy” Combs is scheduled to go on trial in Manhattan federal court on Tuesday (US time)
Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, wrote in a statement after the hip hop mogul’s arrest: “We are disappointed with the decision by the United States Attorney’s Office to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs. Sean “Diddy” Combs is a music icon, a self-made businessman, a loving family man, and a proven philanthropist who has spent the past 30 years building an empire, loving his children, and working to uplift the black community.”
“He is an imperfect man but he is not a criminal. It is commendable that Mr. Combs has cooperated extensively with this investigation and voluntarily moved to New York last week to prepare for these charges,” Agnifilo added. “Please defer your judgment until the full evidence is available. These are the actions of an innocent man who has nothing to hide and who looks forward to being cleared in court.”
Sean “Diddy” Combs, 54, has been accused of sexual misconduct since his ex-girlfriend, singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, 38, sued him for rape and physical abuse in November 2023. Ventura, claims that the “I’ll Be Missing You” rapper regularly abused and tortured her, including allegedly forcing her to have sex with male prostitutes, throughout their 10-year relationship.
