Ashton Kutcher is keeping mum about Sean “Diddy” Combs’ parties.
In a 2019 interview with Sean Evans for Hot Ones, the actor did not offer any information of the disgraced movie mogul’s infamous parties when asked to share an anecdote. Ashton responded “Wow. Okay, I’ve got a lot I can’t tell.” Then he paused, stumbling with his words as he considered what he was going to say next. He finally said while laughing, “I can’t tell that one either.”
Ashton said he was “cycling” through the parties in his head. He then added while still not disclosing any details: “Diddy party stories… man, that was some weird memory lane thing.”
The resurfaced interview has been circulating again this week on social media specifically, X, formerly Twitter. The video has elicited scrutiny as people have criticized the Guess Who actor for being present at Diddy’s events as well as their friendship. Some mentioned that Ashton seemed uncomfortable while handling the question. Others brought up Ashton’s anti- sex trafficking foundation that he founded in 2009 and his relationship with That 70s’ Show costar and longtime friend Danny Masterson.
One user tweeted: “You can tell the flashbacks are worrisome from the way he sighs. Damn!!” A second critic said: “It sounds like he will be indicted – Kutcher has poor taste in friends. First Masterson and now Combs.” Another said: “Maybe it’s time we look into Ashton Kutcher’s human trafficking and child trafficking work considering he’s best buds with people like Diddy and Danny Masterson.” A fourth user requested the actor be called to testify: “He’s knows something. Subpoena him.”
The 46-year-old resigned from his sex-trafficking prevention organization called Thorn in September 2023 after the backlash he received for writing a reference letter of support for Danny before the Scientologist was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for two counts of forcible rape.
Ashton’s friendship with Diddy began in 2003 when the father-of two had plans to prank the Bad Boy CEO on his MTV show Punk’d. He detailed in the same 2019 Hot Ones interview how the show brought them together.
“Our relationship is really bizarre. It started over Punk’d because he was like, ‘Yo, you can’t punk me!’ I was like, ‘I don’t know what to tell you, everybody is on the table,'” Ashton explained. “That started our conversation. We became fast friends and we used to just hang out, watch football together.”
The 54-year-old rapper has been arrested and indicted in Manhattan for sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution on Monday, September 16. He has been denied bail twice as he awaits trial and is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Diddy has pleaded not guilty to the charges and has denied the allegations against him.
