Former Good Morning Britain anchor Piers Morgan has been forced to issue a very rare apology after being contacted by lawyers representing Jay-Z and Beyonce.
The YouTuber, 59, has revealed he has edited a recent episode of his Uncensored series following a guest making some serious allegations against the music moguls during a discussion about disgraced rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ alleged crimes.
Combs, 54, found himself under arrest at a New York City hotel on Sept. 16 and was subsequently detained without bail on federal charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Despite the allegations, Combs has denied all charges, with his attorney asserting that the music tycoon is “an innocent man with nothing to hide.”

During the October 2 instalment of Piers Morgan Uncensored, Morgan, 59, interviewed 47-year-old American singer Jaguar Wright, who made unfounded accusations against Jay-Z and Beyonce. While discussing Combs‘ arrest, Wright stated: “For four years I’ve been screaming not just Diddy, but Diddy and Jay-Z are monsters.”
In another part of the show, Wright alleged that Jay-Z was “worse than Diddy”. She later claimed that Jay-Z and Beyoncé had hundreds of victims. The legal team for Jay-Z, 54, and Beyoncé, 43, reached out to Morgan, prompting him to label the comments as “totally false” and issue a direct apology.
“Jaguar Wright made several serious allegations about Jay-Z and Beyoncé during their interview. As I said at the time, they were not present to respond or defend themselves,” Morgan began his apologetic statement with. “They have now responded. Their lawyers contacted us to say those claims were totally false, and have no basis in fact.”

Morgan then revealed that they had edited the interview to remove the allegations. “We’ve therefore complied with the legal request to cut them from the original interview. Editing interviews is not something we take lightly on a show called Uncensored,” the divisive broadcaster added.
Morgan then likened the situation to a fire before rounding off with his apology. “But like the proverbial cries of fire in a crowded theatre, there are legal limits on us too. We apologise to Jay-Z and Beyoncé,” Morgan concluded. A revised version of the interview can now be viewed on Piers Morgan’s Uncensored YouTube channel.
Combs was arrested on Monday September 16 in New York City on sex trafficking and racketeering charges. He’s been denied bail multiple times and is currently being held in the Metropolitan Detention Centre (MDC) in Brooklyn. Combs has pleaded not guilty to the charges and has denied all wrongdoing. His attorney Marc Agnifilo told the press outside court on Tuesday September 17: “Mr Combs is a fighter, he’s going to fight this to the end. He’s innocent. He came to New York to establish his innocence. He’s not afraid, he’s not afraid of the charges.”
