Trump Faces Mounting Pressure Over Epstein Files
Despite repeated attempts to downplay the issue, former President Donald Trump continues to be haunted by the Jeffrey Epstein scandal — a matter that is drawing intense public and bipartisan political attention.
According to sources, Trump and his advisers have repeatedly urged MAGA figures to dismiss the case, even calling it “boring.” However, these efforts have failed to stem the growing pressure from the public and Congress.
Notably, a press conference on September 3 became a flashpoint when 10 Epstein victims — some speaking out for the first time — stood on the steps of the U.S. Capitol. They called for the full release of the “Epstein files” so the public could finally learn the truth and justice could be served.
Several victims expressed frustration with the justice system: “They failed to protect us before. Don’t fail us again.” Questions have also been raised about how the Department of Justice under Trump handled the case, particularly the favorable treatment of Ghislaine Maxwell — Epstein’s only convicted accomplice — who was granted relatively lenient conditions and allowed to make controversial statements.
Adding to the controversy, Epstein’s death in federal custody remains one of the darkest marks on Trump’s presidency. The alleged suicide, combined with missing surveillance footage, has fueled suspicions of cover-ups and mismanagement.
Experts note that even if there is no direct evidence linking Trump to Epstein’s crimes, his attempts to minimize or avoid the subject only deepen public mistrust. With hundreds of women — many of them underage at the time — among the victims, social and political pressure on Trump is expected to intensify.
Some observers argue that the Epstein scandal is not only a “media nightmare” but could also become a major political obstacle for Trump as he seeks a return to the White House.
