This is the thrilling moment when a hippo attacks 3 lions crossing a river – will they make it through safely? This nail biting scene took place in the Selinda Reserve in Botswana.
The lion is often considered the king of the jungle. For the most part, this is true, as they are dominant and territorial animals and of course predators in the wild. They are incredible hunters and don’t step out of their territory without a good reason.
This proud lion crossed the Selinda spillway in Botswana. They were well aware of the hippos around them but clearly felt the need to cross the river.
As soon as the lions started crossing the river, they realized that they were in sea-free waters. These seas are in fact confirmed hippopotamus territories. But is it too late to turn around?
Hippos are also very dangerous animals in terms of territory and are known to be very dangerous animals – especially when they get too close to the water. The four crossing lions can be interpreted as a threat to these hippos as they have just seen these large lions entering their territory.
The only hippopotamus that does its job is to get these lions out of the water. It is not necessary to eat meat or even seriously injure the lion. Just make it clear that they do not welcome uninvited guests in their home.
When the hippo started chasing the lion, our excitement increased when I thought it would stop. I am very sad and worried that one of the lions will be killed by the hippo! Especially given how tight and severe the fees are.
It was not a great feeling at all. The alliance is split with 2 lions on our side and the other 2 on the other side. They have to walk a long distance around the pool and cross a shallower path to reach their mates. Fortunately, none of the lions were seriously injured.
A scene like this will certainly not be repeated any time soon. I consider myself lucky to have witnessed a scene like this in real life.
