How Justin and Hailey Bieber Handle Constant Rumors About Their Marriage
Justin and Hailey Bieber have faced numerous rumors about their relationship over the years, from speculations about Justin’s health to doubts about the strength of their marriage. Despite having a dedicated fan base, the couple has dealt with their fair share of doubters.
Recently, Justin, who turned 31 on March 1, faced speculation about his health, including rumors regarding drug use. On February 23, his representative addressed these rumors, calling them “exhausting and pitiful,” and stating that some people continue to spread negative and harmful narratives about him.
In January, when Justin unfollowed Hailey on Instagram, rumors about the state of their marriage began to spread. Justin quickly clarified that someone else had accessed his account and unfollowed Hailey, saying, “S–t is getting suss out here.” Hailey echoed this sentiment in March 2024, posting on Instagram Stories that the “blind items” and rumors circulating on TikTok were “100% of the time wrong” and “made out of thin air.”
Despite the constant rumors, Hailey has spoken out about the pain of dealing with public scrutiny. In an interview with W Magazine in July, she shared, “People have made me feel so bad about my relationship since day one. ‘Oh, they’re falling apart. They hate each other. They’re getting divorced.’ It’s like people don’t want to believe that we’re happy.” Hailey admitted that while it’s tough, she’s learned to accept the rumors, though it never gets easier.
Hailey and Justin, however, have always leaned on each other, emphasizing the importance of companionship in their marriage. As Hailey once told Vogue Australia, “My favorite thing about being married is honestly the companionship.” She also admitted in 2019 that marriage is “really effing hard,” acknowledging that every couple experiences challenges.
The Biebers have faced major health challenges together, such as when Hailey had a blood clot in her brain in March 2022 and Justin was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome later that year. Despite these struggles, they have remained by each other’s side, committed to their vows of “for better or for worse.”
In August, the couple welcomed their son, Jack Blues Bieber. While Hailey had been the subject of speculation about pregnancy for months, she chose not to confirm her pregnancy until she was six months along. She shared with W Magazine that keeping the secret had been stressful and didn’t allow her to enjoy the pregnancy openly.
The Biebers have chosen to keep their son’s face private, continuing to protect his privacy by not sharing images of his face. Through it all, Justin and Hailey have remained focused on their love for each other, continuing to navigate their relationship in the public eye.
Looking back on their early years together, Hailey reflected on their marriage in a 2019 Vogue interview, saying, “We’re coming from a really genuine place… We’re two young people who are learning as we go. I’m not going to sit here and lie and say it’s all a magical fantasy.” She went on to say, “We’re really young, and that’s a scary aspect. We’re going to change a lot. But we’re committed to growing together.”
Justin echoed her sentiments, saying, “And you’re my baby boo.” The couple has always maintained that their relationship, though not perfect, is worth fighting for, and they continue to grow together, supporting each other through the ups and downs.
