The Kansas City Chiefs delighted fans with a heartfelt message congratulating star tight end Travis Kelce and global pop icon Taylor Swift on their engagement.
On Instagram, Aug. 26, shortly after the couple announced their big news, the team posted: “Today is a fairytale ❤️💍 Congrats to Travis and Taylor — we’re excited to have you as a permanent member of the Chiefs Kingdom family!” The caption was paired with a slideshow of sweet moments of the couple.
The first photo captured Kelce and Swift embracing on the field after the Chiefs’ victory over the Buffalo Bills in the 2025 AFC Championship, a win that sent them to Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles. The second was a repost of the couple’s joint Instagram announcement, taken in a flower-filled garden where Kelce popped the question. Swift jokingly captioned: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨.”
The engagement ring was personally designed by Kelce in collaboration with jeweler Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry, featuring a unique “Old Mine brilliant cut” stone.
The engagement news arrived just two days after Kelce and several teammates attended a special screening of ESPN’s documentary The Kingdom in Kansas City, joined by his parents, Ed and Donna Kelce. At the event, Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt told PEOPLE the series gives fans a “fun little peek into Travis’ relationship with Taylor,” even revealing details that were new to the family itself.
Taylor Swift first appeared at a Chiefs game on Sept. 23, 2023, sitting beside Kelce’s mother Donna at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs won 41–10 over the Chicago Bears, with Kelce scoring a memorable touchdown that night.
From cheering in the stands to a romantic engagement, Taylor Swift has now officially become part of the “Chiefs Kingdom.”
